The SCO site http://www.sco.com appears to still be down, ever since a virus attack in early Feb. What the heck? Did they just give up on the domain and move camp somewhere else? Is the virus still wreaking this much havoc? How can such a major computer company be crippled for so long? Am I missing something here?
Can’t speak for why they haven’t re-enabled the DNS name yet, but they are using www.thescogroup.com instead. Not to be confused with www.scogroup.com, which is a financial group. Same IP address, different name.
There is some question about how much effect the virus had on them and how much SCO did in the way of deploying countermeasures to a pre-announced attack. There is no question that a DDoS was attempted, but SCO might have played it up a bit.
