Question for the audiologists

Can the frequency response of my ears be tested and plotted?

I’m a recording engineer and I would like to know what I’m actually hearing and what my brain is filling in for me. I’d like to see this printed out in some kind of report. With pictures and everything. :slight_smile:

I played guitar in a bar band for many years and have experienced some hearing loss and tinnitis in my right ear. I’ve had hearing tests before (follow-up to ear surgery), but I was very young, and all I ever knew was that I was “doing okay.”

Can this be done, and how much will it cost me?

What you want is called an “audiogram.”

I didn’t see any place that listed costs, but I really didn’t search very hard either (just plugged “audiogram” into google). Check with your family doc to see if it is covered by insurance.
