Question on Importing information into ACT! 2000.

But first! A little back ground:

I have an Excel spreadsheet with about 60,000 customer contacts and I am bringing it into ACT! 2000. To do that, I save the Excel file as a DBaseIV file and import it into ACT! from there.

Done this many-a-time. Works with no problems…untill today.

Some of the contacts on this Excel file are duplicates, but only to a point. The Company name, address, phone number, etc are the same, but other info like the customer number, or their product’s serial number are different.

Now when I import the DB file into ACT, ACT seems to completly delete the ‘duplicate’ entries regardless of the above mentioned differences.

My guess is that ACT looks at the default fields when importing and if they are duplicated it drops the rest regardless.

So, question is: How do I stop this? How do I get ACT to import ALL the contacts and not dump those that it seems to think are dupes.

Help!

(And Thanks! )

Woo hoo!

Sorry all…with some further diggin around the net I found the solution.
