OK, I love all three seasons of The Bridge, but we just finished watching the last one and something doesn’t add up for me.
So Emil Larsson did it because he’s Freddie’s kid via sperm donation to Helle Anker’s IVF clinic. (Which is why he killed Helle: she was one of his ‘creators’, like he says in the interrogation.) When the detectives finally get the current director of the clinic to pull up the file, it says, basically, ‘Donor: Freddie Holst. 1 confirmed pregnancy. Mother: Annamaria Larsson.’
So why does Morten Anker say his brother shot him? And why did Morten show up at Freddie’s place asking for his father and saying ‘We were both supposed to be here’ (implying Emil as well)? And why does Morten have Freddie’s sperm-donor code taped to his fridge?
Basically, Morten was obviously under the impression that he was Freddie’s kid. But the IVF clinic records say that Freddie’s donation only led to one pregnancy. And there’s never the slightest hint that Helle Anker either used a sperm donor to get pregnant (she was married to a guy when she had Morten) or was shagging Freddie on the side.
Why does Morten think he’s Emil’s brother? Am I missing something incredibly obvious?
While we’re at it, why does Annika have all the equipment needed to stage the murders in her basement?
