Awww! He is a cutie!
Yay!!
Congratulations, skittles! Oh my god, he is beautiful. He is absolutely one of the cutest newborns I’ve ever seen!
Thanks for letting us know. I loves me a good Dope mystery, but not that kind!
What a beautiful baby, I love the pic of you both in the hospital bed when he’s looking up at you.
BTW, despite everything you’ve been through you manage to look glamourous! How on earth did you pull that one off?
Ohhh little (BIG!) sausage! What a cute babeeee!
And congratulations and well done for getting through it. From now on it just gets better.
Wishing you a lifetime of happiness together.
Oh, he’s so cute! Congratulations to your family. I just got back on the boards yesterday (bed rest) and was wondering how you were doing. I’m glad the big guy is here now.
He’s so beautiful and precious. Congrats.
Thanks for all the compliments. We think he happens to be the cutest baby ever, but we are a bit prejudice in that regards.
I was so glad when they finally allowed me to shower in the hospital! It made me feel a world better!!! Now only if I had a staff of nurses here so I could shower when I wanted to.
Another update - I got my stitches out last week (a week after birth). All looks good with that. I am still sore, but every day it gets better. The BEST part…when I went for my one week post-operative check-up I had already lost TWENTY POUNDS! That is the FASTEST weight I’ve ever lost! So now I just have to get rid of this last 12 pounds - which will probably take me forever!
Also, for all those interested…I’ve added a few more pictures.
Photo number twelve is so beautiful! I love how you’re looking down at him from the side and he’s all in deep thought. So sweet!
He is gorgeous! Congratulations on the new baby!
I love the new pictures. I have to say, I’m so touched by the one of his hand around one of your fingers. I’m actually in tears after looking at it. It’s an absolutely beautiful picture!
Aww what a cutie! He’ll be a heartbreaker that one.
There’s one thing cuter than baby kitty pictures. . .

I’ve posted more pictures for those that are interested!!!
He’s so precious! I hope you’re enjoying your first few weeks of motherhood, and getting enough sleep.
I have lots of advice, but you haven’t asked for that, so I’ll keep my trap shut!
Advice is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
Some things are easier than others.
Rest is seldom…but I am trying to work on that.
His nights and days are definitely mixed up. I’m dealing with that as best as possible…
I am definitely head over heals in love with this little man though!
Well, okay, if you insist.
I’ve had three of 'em, and I’ve done a lot of research. Newborns are like a project for me. These are just things that I’ve found helpful, YBVM.
Newborns (up to about 8 weeks or so) love to be swaddled. A lot of infants have a highly developed startle reflex, and the flailing about of arms and legs sets off a cycle, making them upset. Swaddle, swaddle, swaddle.
Most babies have a sucking instinct that isn’t fully filled with their eating. Pacifiers are essential. Also, I’ve found invaluable a comfort object. Usually a small stuffed animal with no separate parts or a blanky. This comes in very handy, because the baby will often transfer the comfort he feels from you onto the object. Not that you don’t want to be right there every second to comfort him, but it reallys helps with the self-comforting skills that you want him to develop.
Bedtimes. Once he gets on a regular schedule and sleeps more at night, but not too far in the future, you should start putting him to sleep in his crib for naps and nighttime, while he’s still awake. An essential skill for him to develop is to be able to get himself to sleep. I can not emphasize this enough. Do not let yourself become enslaved to an hours-long bedtime ritual of rocking, laying down with, or otherwise getting your baby to sleep. This makes bedtimes as well as middle-of-the-night wakings that every one at every age has MUCH healthier and easier.
Look into your baby’s eyes as you feed him. Eye contact with mom helps to release digestive acids which helps him to gain all the nutrition he can. Babies have even been know to develop the “failure to thrive” condition if they are deprived of this eye contact. Luckily, it comes naturally. Also a good argument against the all-too-common habit some parents have of propping up a bottle for the baby before he can hold it, so they can do other things.
If you have carpet, use those new “no drip” nipples if he’s bottle-feeding at the age where he can sling his bottle around and move. I wish they had those before my preciouses decorated my carpets with lovely black dots.
That’s probably enough for now.
