You might be thinking of Danni’s Hard Drive, run by busty porn star Danni Ashe (who was never that pretty, IMO, but had a giant fake rack). Her site was one of the most popular of its kind for several years.

Danni Ashe’s boobs are real.

Do these girls make a lot of money?
According to some of their myspace profiles they are. Of course that could totally be false info. I wouldn’t doubt that your more popular ones are doing pretty damn well. ie Kate.
Do girls on these sites have any hope of not being discovered by their friends and family?
Like others have said, most probably don’t care. Otherwise they would either cover their faces or choose not to enter the field.
On that subject, are there any stories out there about a girl on this kind of site facing repercussions in her real life due to her work online?
Tiffany Teen got in a tizzy when people found out her identity/location. Somehow they linked her by finding out who her fiance at the time was or something. Kates identity was also blown. Someone recognized her from highschool and with her real name they googled her and found a load of information. Where she lived, her father’s apparent suicide (or illness I forget), etc..

Check the links in post #9 for some of the answers.

What I don’t understand is why someone would want to subscribe to a single girl site. I’d think that for anonymous porn viewing, variety is the spice of life. Unless, of course, you are an obsessive stalker.

Yeah I don’t get that either, unless it’s people encountering their first internet porn evar. Why would someone want to see an average looking girl doing nothing when they can pay the same amount and watch hundreds of hot chicks doing everything and anything? I doubt anyone will fess up, but someone has to be on the other end of this market, and I’m genuinely curious as to the appeal.

Few of those sites have an average looking girl doing nothing. Inside the member areas will be a wider selection of videos with masturbation, toying, lesbian sex and male/female sex just like any other site.
It’s the same business model as Girls Gone Wild. What they advertise on television is tame spring break footage of girls pulling up their shirts and giving each other pecks on the lips. The real money is made inside the site by hard-core lesbian videos.
Why? There appear to be two markets alongside one another. There is an audience for porn women, the ones with large fake breasts, pounds of makeup, huge hair, extremely toned stripper-pole clutching thighs, and general exaggeration of everything.
The other market is for natural-looking women, especially younger ones, who look like the girl next door but do all the same sexual acts as the women in the industry. Totally different hair and makeup, though and often a body distinction since they don’t make the extra money on the stripper circuit that all the name porn actresses use for their real income and so don’t need toned dancer bodies.
It’s a pure marketing approach, about as meaningful a distinction as designer jeans vs. Levi’s. Or Dunkin’ Donuts vs. Starbucks. Some people will absolutely choose one over the other and justify it to themselves by whatever reasoning is necessary. But they’re all just pants or coffee. Or women stripping and having sex. The money is in finding the niche in marketing to sell your variation of a universal.
