How does the “view” count for a thread work? I don’t think it is updated as frequently as the “replies” count. I may be wrong, but if I am not why is that? Do multiple views by the same poster count to the total “views” or is it a count of the number of discrete posters who have had a look?
I believe it’s updated hourly, to save strain on the server. Each view counts, even if they are multiple views by the same person, even if it’s only the OP that can’t believe no one has answered yet.
Not sure on how often it updates, but it does count a “view” every time someone opens the thread, regardless of what else they do. If you reply to a thread, even though you are returned to it after your posting, that’s still only one view, though.

Umm, just to clarify: does the view count represent the number of views of the thread or the the number of views by different posters (only one view counted for any poster regardless of how many times he views, as per **This Year’s Model ** interpetation)?
It counts every time someone opened the thread, regardless of how many times an individual poster may have gone to the thread or what they may or may not have done while in that thread.
A view is a view is a view.
