It depends on the level of the position. We were hiring for an entry level position, and we could not fly anyone down for an interview or help with moving expenses. We did two phone interviews with people out of state, but both of them seemed a little wary of having to get down on their own in person for a second interview should we ask. And we weren’t going to hire anyone we’d just talked to on the phone.
OTOH, a director that I work closely with was flown down for an interview, and I think was helped out with moving expenses. It all depends on how high-level a position you’re looking to fill.
