Quick computer/cd question- please advise.

I have been struggling with this at work over the past few days, and I just thought to post it here. Of course!

Here goes- I have begun to receive medical records on cd, and I have to put them into the medical records software online. I put the cd into my documents, and then when I try to download it into the software, it says something like “file must be between 0 and such-and-such whatevers”. I had this problem with scanning documents earlier, and I changed the resolution on the scanner and it worked. What do I do to get it to fit? Yes, I could call tech support for the software, but you all don’t treat me like I’m stupid, to my face, heh. Thanks in advance!

Bonus question- is there a way to wipe your downloads list without having to highlight and delete each one, one by one?

Can you be more specific? What kind of files are on the medical records CD? Are they Word documents, JPEG images, blah blah – the more specific the better. Which website are you trying to upload them to (or did you mean a program on your computer?)? What is the exact error message, not “whatevers”? The more details, the better.

Downloads list – in which browser? Usually, you can hold down shift and select multiple ones, or push CTRL-A to select them all and then delete them.

It specifically says “File file size file size must be between 0 and 2097152 bytes.” (Yep, that’s really what it says!)

The type of file- it is an Adobe Acrobat document of 2.30 MB.

Anyone?

Bueller?

Unfortunately, you are using a lot of terms incorrectly so your question is sort of incomprehensible.

Sounds like you are moving files from a CD to your hard drive, and storing the files in the My Documents folder.

Then you go to upload the files to a Web site, but the Web site gives you an error.

Where does the scanner come in? Did you create the files on the CD?

Are you actually moving files from the CD to your My Documents folder or are you mistaking My Documents for My Computers and moving from the CD to the Web site? Perhaps there is a problem with your CD drive?

Can you open the documents from your computer/My Documents? Are they getting corrupt? Can you open them from the CD?

My advice…call the company that runs the Web site. They can step you through everything a lot quicker than we can.

Looks like your PDF files are simply too big. Maybe try something like a PDF Shrinker (never used, not sure how well it works)… otherwise email them and ask them to increase the file size limit. 2MB is kind of small these days…

Ah, you’re good. This is what I needed. The one you linked to errors out in the last second, but I found another free one to download, and it works! Thanks!
