I missed the thread; could mswas possibly define “Respainspurtay” for me? My ICD9 coding manual seems to come up blank on this one. On the off chance that it isn’t pure gibberish, could you possibly point me to a definition of this diagnosis?
If I’m understanding it correctly, it’s just his way of dealing with stress. Sounds like it helps him separate himself from whatever is getting to him so he can analyze it rationally. Hope I’m close on that. It’s certainly a different way of thinking from mine.

It’s not that those three discuss these esoteric issues which are of absolutely no interest to me, it’s their pretentious assinine comments like “you couldn’t understand” or referring to those who point out their poor communication skills as “mental midgets”. And the mutual masturbation “you’re great!” “No, you’re great!!!” crap is just plain annoying.
They are three black turtleneck wearing, thin black cigarette smoking, rejectors of the tri-une God, philosophy majors who feel the need to not only discuss whatever stuff interests them (which is fine), but to make every effort that everyone else within earshot knows that they are too deep, too troubled, and too smart for us pleibes.
Heck, most kids go through the same phase a some point in their higher education. It’s kinda cute in it’s own little way. But way too much, and it’s incredibly annoying.
Well, with that many, some at least were bound to, by the law of coincidence!

I was kind of disappointed that Lissa and others came back into it. I figured as long as they were preoccupied with their circle-jerk, then the rest of the SDMB would be free of them.
That whole thread is the kind of thing that makes me thankful somethingawful hasn’t heard of this site yet.

And why do you think that decent thinkers return to an interesting thread? I’ll tell you. It’s because they’re decent thinkers.
No one is going away, asswipe. We will all be around indefinitely, haunting and taunting the fools. I, all by my lonesome, can out think anyone at a canter, on these boards or anywhere else.
When you get a few of us together, it’s a laugher as you dimwits scramble around to try and destroy what little intellectual integrity these boards have.
I don‘t agree with Aeschines on the matter of a Dark Christ, since I don’t believe in a Christ in the first place. I don’t agree with mswas trying to rationalize/explain Aeschines’s metaphor. They probably wouldn’t agree with my disagreement, but I would respect them inestimably for doing so.
Time’s a gonna come, and I will post to the pit the ultimate deconstruction of these boards, particularly GD’s. You’ll never be able to wiggle your pathetic little asses out of a decent discussion again after this, so enjoy the remainder of your nefarious reign.
