In this thread, the obnoxious trio of Aeschines, mswas, and drmark2000 are all busily posting brown-acid pretentious philosophical mumbo-jumbo about the Dark Christ and the nature of suffering. There’s also a load of shit about 9/11, Greek myths and Respainpurtay. Here’re some nuggets:
When they’re not posting pompous bullshit, or patronising other members, they’re busily fellating each other:
They’re distracted, so now’s our chance! We lock this thread, chain it up, throw it in a steel box, weld that shut, strap it to a rocket and fire it into the sun! Who’s with me?
I’ve linked it, yes. So if all goes well, they come in here and THEN we do the locking, and the chaining, and the firing into the sun. [Frink]Mm-hai bw-ha whoa-hoa. The colours, children, the colours![/frink]
I admit, your concept of Respainpurtay is too advanced for me. Could you stick around a while and explain it for me?
Shhh! I’ll give the rest of you the signal to get out in time. I’ve got one here so far, keep him talking while I get the box, the arc welder and the goat
[sub]okay, but you BETTER not be fucking with me: there’s no way in hell I want to be trapped ina box with them for an entire trip to the sun. I swear I will fucking haunt you if you don’t give me the signal in time.[/sub]
What doesn’t he understand, mswas, and what makes you think it’s superior to him? I don’t understand why the dogs at the shelter take so long to pee sometimes, either, but that doesn’t mean I get all Respainpurtay about it.
But it seems that he is drifting again to his old ways. Maybe another chapter of the saga is needed. But **New Iskander ** is getting the next one if he appears again.
**mswas ** and **drmark2000 ** are not on the level to get special roasts, but they are getting there.
Ok, I knew I didn’t explain it properly. Respainspurtay was a word that went through my head a few times when I felt a particular type of pain, but was not overwhelmed by that pain to where I could not analyze it. It was a kind of keyword toward unlocking that type of pain.
I utterly fucked up when trying to explain it. But why I came up with it in this case was that it’s a word that has no emotional baggage applied to it, but means something similar to Aeschines “Dark Christ”, in that it is a key that unlocked blocked emotional trauma in my body, so that I could examine it and understand it and move forward from it.
So the point I was trying to make was that I could use a word that has no prior baggage applied to it “Respainspurtay”, and not be understood AT ALL, or I could use a term like “Dark Christ” that has LOTS of baggage attached to it and be likely misunderstood.
But the point is that the metaphor was created to describe a particular experience, and then it was used to describe that experience. What I was trying to get at is that if you get stuck on the metaphor you completely lose access to it’s meaning.
So Aeschines was trying to relate something, and people jumped on him for his choice of metaphors in some instances.
Does that help you at all? It’s about taking existing terms and combining them to make a new term, or making up a word completely. But the MEANING which is what’s important here, we tried to explain.
How quickly recent history is forgot. On 12-19-05, dmark2000 posted What has become of SDMB, especially GD’s?, which became an attempt at a reverse pitting when all the mental midgets came to tap on the Collosus of Rhodes with small wooden hammers. The good doctor was doing fine by himself, but I, sick of crass ganging up against New Agers/Age Olders that has taken place on this board, decided to make it a duo, and we most decisively handed the asses their own.
So kids, we just did this. Go back to your playground. Scatter. Shoo!
Where do I say I’m intellectually superior? My point is that you write incomprehensible, pretentious garbage. You make up words or alter their meanings just to prove some kind of superiority or to piss off your readers.
If you want to say you feel deep emotional pain, please feel free. You don’t need a silly made-up word to describe it, leading to a thousand words of explanation. Just don’t abuse the English language, the logical process, or your readers.
