Could somebody please tell the name of the song they played during the credits of ‘Full Metal Jacket’. I’d also like to know who performed the song. I have a strong suspicion it was the Rolling Stones.

I strongly suspect you mean “Paint It Black.” If so, it was indeed the Rolling Stones.
Upon a little research, I believe I was right. It was used in the movie, but you won’t find it on the soundtrack.
Great song, though.
