I’ve seen this movie several times and a thought just occurred to me. How did Malcolm know to go to Cole? He wasn’t a patient of Malcolm’s before the shooting, right? And then of course after the shooting nobody was referred to him, so how did he know about Cole?
The same way the other dead people found him. Not very specific but that’s one of those “just a given but not explained” things. Note that even in pictures, the kid had glowing things around him. Dead people could probably spot the glow even without taking a picture. (Unless the glow was a dead person hanging around.)
You know, I thought about that too, but the first time we see Malcolm waiting for Cole, doesn’t he have a notepad with notes written about him?
WAIT - I just had a stunning thought. Could those have been his notes about the boy how grew up and shot him? Wasn’t it mentioned in the movie that that boy and Cole had the same gift/curse?
Yes, that boy had the same ‘problem’ as Cole but Malcom ‘misdiagnosed’ him.
But I think the notes were about Cole. He was kind of stalking him if you think about it. Maybe those notes were just his observations.
