Quickie Survey: Your Top 5 current TV Shows

  1. Law & Order - Simply the best. (And I hate all of the spinoff shows, FTR.)

  2. The West Wing - You all know my politics. Some of the liberals-good; Republicans-evil plot lines on this show make me roll my eyes. But it is extremely smart, extremely well written, directed, casted and acted.

  3. Sportscenter - How did we survive before this show?

  4. Hardball - I bet it would be fun to get drunk and shoot the shit with Chris Matthews.

  5. Antiques Roadshow - And I don’t even collect antiques. Then again, I used to think “Joy of Painting with Bob Ross” was the best hangover remedy on a Saturday morning, and I haven’t lifted a paint brush artistically since about the third grade.

Buffy.

That’s it.

Buffy.

Angel.

Boston Public.

Monday Night Football (assuming the Bears are scheduled for a Monday night ever again…).

and anything dealing with science/technology/warfare on History Channel or TLC.

Shows I watch religiously:

Friends

ER

Everybody Loves Raymond

Grounded for Life

Yes, Dear

Show I try to catch as often as possible:

**CSI

Whose Line is it Anyway?** (either version)

**Simpsons

South Park

Any forensics/crime solving documentaries on various cable channels.

Leno** Mostly to watch his monologue, and I always try to catch his “Headlines” on Monday night.

Sheri

Buffy (I find the geeks amusing, because, well, it’s kinda like what would happen if me and a couple of my buddies ever got serious about becoming evil geniouses.)

West Wing

Enterprize (Certainly the best first season of any Trek spinoff so far. Captain Hunter has displayed more leadership and more common sense in three episodes than Janeway did the whole Voyager run.)

Alias (best new show since, well, West Wing. My only gripe is that, if they are going to steal so much of the look from “Run Lola Run”, they could at least hire real techo artists to do the soundtrack, instead of using studio musicians.)

Hmmm… there’s four…

I guess “ER” comes in as the default answer.

-LV

I guess key word is current…so I should eliminate Futurama and the Simpsons from the line up. For now. (Damn you, FOX!)

  1. Boston Public (as of tonight, baby)

  2. 24

  3. Weakest Link

  4. Smallville

  5. South Park

1)Simpsons
2)ER
3)Who’s line is it anyways? (US version)
4)Enterprise
5)Charmed

The Simpsons: Have been watching this show for more than a decade. Why stop now?

Becker: One of those whiny cranky grouch shows. I love 'em!

Scrubs/Malcolm in the Middle: I put these two together because I consider them the perfect TV comedies–ones with no laugh track.

Home Movies: One of the cartoons on Adult Swim. “How’s it going? Well, I just drank pee Brendon. How’s it going with you?”

Everybody Loves Raymond: One of the real family life type of shows.

I’m impatiently awaiting new episodes of The Simpsons**, Futurama**,** Oz**, and Queer As Folk because they would ordinarily be in my top 5 shows.

The top 5 shows I’m watching as of right now:
Iron Chef–I never much cared for cooking shows, but the color commentary on this show has me hooked. “Fukui-san, the challenger is mixing the egg whites with minced sea bream, brown sugar and shallots.”

The Sopranos–good and evil (mostly evil) in New Jersey

Will & Grace–Still one of the funniest sitcoms going, plus Karen is my model of an evil, drunken, trophy wife, everything I want to grow up to be.

Enterprise–The plots are so-so, but the beefcake quotient on this show is amazing. Trip is my fantasy man.

**Buffy, the Vampire Slayer–It’s starting off slowly, but I’m liking the direction it’s taking.

In no ranking order…

Buffy: I’m also worried about the Jumping the Shark potential, but I’ve been worried before and Joss hasn’t let me down.

Angel: Getting better all the time

Simpsons: Possibly the best (funniest) show ever.

West Wing: Hate the politics of the main characters, but love the writing/acting and the fact that opposing viewpoints are almost always represented. Also highly enjoy the cast interaction.

Malcolm in the Middle: I was a really gifted kid too and can relate to some of the angst. I really dig how over the top and remoreseless the show is, too.

I’m also anxiously awaiting 24.

In no particular order

Iron Chef
Survivor
CSI
Law and Order (CI and well, the original I guess)
The Practice

Honorable Mention
The Mole (sob), Seinfeld reruns, Friends.

I haven’t seen an episode of er yet this year…

  1. Will and Grace
  2. The Education of Max Bickford
  3. The Simpsons
  4. Jeopardy
  5. Win Ben Stein’s Money

Buffy. I don’t mind the geeks- yet. But they don’t have very many more episodes before they start to annoy me. time to cut to the ubervillain. Or whatever.

Angel. Not as much fun as Buffy, but I still make sure to watch it every week.

The Daily Show. Too bad I never seem to be home or awke when it’s on.

Whose Line is it, Anyway? I’m sorry, but this is just about the only comedy that makes me laugh out loud.

Iron Chef. I want Kaga.

Law & Order (the original – accept no substitutes!)
CSI
That’s Life
7th Heaven (yes, I’m the person who watches this show)
Enterprise

CSI
Enterprise
Everybody Loves Raymond
ER
Curb Your Enthusiasm

When they finally start showing new episodes I’ll be adding:
Family Guy
Farscape
Futurama

So when will you be moving on to the “G’s”?

The West Wing
Ed
The Simpsons
Smallville
Friends(Now that Rachel is pregnant, I’m interested again.

Iron Chef
Battlebots
Junkyard Wars
Malcolm in the Middle
Amazing Race/Survivor

I just realized how little television I watch. But, anyway, the show I catch regularly is Cowboy Bebop. After that, in the “I try to catch it if I know it’s coming on, but I hardly ever get to see it” category is Iron Chef, VH1’s Top 20 Countdown, and Blackadder. (Actually, I think BBC America took that off…oh, well…Monty Python for me, then)
jessica

Don’t rush me! I still haven’t gotten thru the F’s!

Family Law
Friends
Frasier
Felicity
