QUICKLY! The Abyss, Mulholland Dr., or Jerry Seinfeld Comedian?

No, this isn’t one of those who would win polls (Batman wasn’t even mentioned!), instead, the three titles are three three movies I just came home with from Blockbuster, and I’m not sure which one to watch first!

Now, I could sit here and list what movies I like, but that’d be boring. Instead, I want to know what movie you’d watch first and why. Again, the choices are:

I’m gonna go grab some grub to go with my movie watching, so I expect several good answers when I get back. Don’t let me down![list]

The Abyss is fun, Jerry is funny but only for so long and Mulholland Dr. is kind of boring.

Just my feeling.

Mulholland Dr for me, hands down. Just because it’s a kind of movie that I like better than either of the other two.

-FrL-

It really depends on my mood on the time.

One’s a science-fiction thriller. Fun stuff, but pretty much popcorn fluff.
One’s a documentary. Interesting and sometimes funny.
One’s David Lynch. And I’m lukewarm on Lynch.

Mulholland Drive. I’ve seen 'em all, and that’s the only one I’d watch again.

*Seinfeld * sucks, The Abyss is great–and then sucks at the end–and Mulholland Drive is a masterpiece.

Mulholland Drive: Completely brilliant; I’ll watch it over and over again. Heck, I wish I were watching it right now.

The Seinfeld thing is an interesting concept, but it wasn’t a particularly good documentary. I was bored a lot.

The Abyss was cool; if you’re looking for escapist entertainment, it’s a great example of the genre. (The ending was lame, though.)

Blargh, all of you took way too long, except for What Exit?. Well, thanks for the advise anyways you tardy bastards

Anyway, I went with WhatExit’s advise and watched The Abyss followed by Jerry Seinfeld Comedian, and I’ll likely get around to Mulholland Dr. tomorrow.

Anyway, after fretting for a few moments of which version of The Abyss to watch, I opted for the Special Edition, which turned out well, as I really liked the movie )though it dragged in placed), and it seems it’s widely regarded as the superior edit.

As for Comedian, I found in interesting, though a bit misguided, and very poor sound quality.

Hopefully Mulholland Dr will maintain the ‘decent flick’ trend.

Hands down, the Abyss would win, then the David Lynch flick. I don’t think I could sit through a film with Jerry Seinfeld.

Mulholland Drive first.

The uh Bris? Well, that does sound pretty scary.

Jerry has a lot of fans, and I guess I’m not one. The last time I sat through Jerry doing standup, I kept waiting for the funny part. Then it was over.

I’m a fan of Seinfeld, but the Comedian movie isn’t really Jerry doing standup. It’s a documentary that’s more about the behind-the-stage stuff before and after he performs at comedy clubs, and the work that goes into coming up with a routine. And it kind of compares and contrasts Jerry (the seasoned pro) with an overly confident up-and-comer (who is probably down-and-gone by now). I found it interesting–especially the interaction of the various comedians. Some are friends and some are not-so-friendly rivals. It was interesting, but not riveting.
