I’m sure he was mentioned, maybe even exalted, but he personified the Dope for me.
I think that guy was really something special. Knowledgeable, learned, concise, and accurate, as well as usually being a really cool guy.
I’m not being hyperbolic when I say that he was the closest thing that I’ve ever had to a hero, as I’ve had in my adult life. He reminded me of my Dad, who is my first, and forever will be, my hero.
I really miss that guy.
Had two pop into my mind almost simultaneously: Bricker and woodstockbirdybird. The latter I totally get, as he’s got one of the finest tastes in music on the SDMB (though I don’t always agree with him), but the former’s a little more perplexing, as I don’t read a whole lotta legal-ish threads.
