I tried to go without a second starter today and as is usually the case for me, it didn’t help my final score. I used plumb to sleuth the _atch trap. Then I was so sure it was going to be tawny again I made a dumb mistake by reusing the A in the wrong place.

I didn’t trust the B because I also needed to check the F for Focal, Local, and Vocal, so I went with Flock. I’m good with that decision. And glad I was right with Vocal, which finally got me out of 8’s-ville.
I remembered you sometimes go with that when I saw the word…too bad you didn’t! Good job on the 6 though.

But not so badly either, you did get the T, lot of other words it could have been. On words like that I’m never sure whether to try the most common letters first or just go with my gut.
