I was surprised when elope turned over green I was just trying to come up with something to check for a L, T and/or P.
I’ll still probably go with SHELF every time. That tests two new letters, while SHELL only tests one. Either one is just as likely to be correct, but SHELF is more likely to give me clues for solving the other words.

This was a nail biter with that huge trap word, especially after missing the first two words. 
BEWIG wouldn’t cover all over them but I had to do something. Thankfully I guessed it right…phew!
Well, that makes me feel a lot better I wasn’t the only one. 
Yeah, I now remember the Shelf-Shell from not long ago. The thing about not playing a double-letter is it’s more advantageous to check whatever other letter there is just in case it’s in another word, and sometimes it’ll pay off, but of course not always.

I sometimes forget to think about words that start with a vowel…didn’t see Elope or Anger at first. I was happy to get Relay over Relax though.

I get what you’re both saying about the double letters, I’m generally not a fan either, for the same reasons. But on the other hand if you guess shelf and there is no F, that’s a wasted guess as well. So it’s six of one and half a dozen of another in my book.

Not necessarily. Knowing that there’s no F in other words can be helpful. Not as helpful as knowing what letters are in a word, but it’s better than nothing.
It depends a little on how many words are still left. I’ll generally go for the low-hanging fruit first. By the time I get to guessing a double letter or not, I may have already solved the other three words.

I saw Husky and just went for it without thinking further. Then I saw Pushy and didn’t even think of the fact there were two more words…I would have done a sleuth word for sure. I’m a little out of it. I’ve changed my schedule and operating on very little sleep right now while I adjust.

All S words! I was sure Steel was correct for the #4 word, so I put that up 2nd…nope, so I got Choir in there. All I saw for the #3 word was Spite and Smite…didn’t think of the U for Suite! Spite at least gave me the P for Spelt (and Spoon). I was glad the last two words were all they could be.
I haven’t been doing very well with Quordle lately…three days in a row with a 9. But I haven’t failed at least, and Sequence has been going well, so there’s that at least.

Now all C words - lol. I didn’t see Crack and was sure I was getting another SEQ-6…those dang double-letter words.
@chiliwillybing Crump was an unusual word…I agree. I was surprised it was all green! I only had the C and R, and the U had to be in there…it was the first thing I saw, so I went for it. I didn’t even think of Crumb, yet I see and go with an obscure word - lol. I see now it could have been Curry or Curvy too…good thing my brain wasn’t functioning that well - for once it did me a favor.

I have a friend who constantly does that with wordle and I have to remind them that would never be a wordle answer, and yet they just keep on doing it
Quordle is another kettle of fish, they do come up with some odd words now and again. Hope you adjust to your new schedule quickly.

Not much to go on with the O in green and the H in yellow for the #3 word. I thought it could be Dough or Bough, but wasn’t to be. The #4 word could have been Angel, Bagel, or Gavel, and I just winged that one…glad it wasn’t Gavel.
