In the movie Sea of Love, there’s a scene where Ellen Barkin realises Al Pacino is a cop and goes off at him. He then responds to the effect that nobody likes cops until “the wet ass hour”. Its always bugged me that I’ve never heard the expression before or since, though it sounds good and in the context of the scene its clear what he means. I’d like to try to use it but fear nobody will know what I’m talking about.
Has anybody else heard the expression? Also, “wet ass”? I presume you’re in some trouble and you’ve wet your pants or is it that the proverbial water is rising and is up to your ass?
