Quotes for debunking

Got an interesting e-mail chock full o’ quotes this morning, and more than a few raised an eyebrow enough to make me say “did they really say that?”

So, does anyone know if these quotes are authentic or not?

(On going to war over religion) – “You’re basically killing each other to see who’s got the better imaginary friend.” – Yasir Arafat

“Clinton lied. A man might forget where he parks or where he lives, but he never forgets oral sex, no matter how bad it is.” – Barbara Bush

“Hockey is a sport for white men. Basketball is a sport for black men. Golf is a sport for white men dressed like black pimps.” – Tiger Woods

They are real quotes, but the attributions are not.

This site attributes the Arafat quote to Richard Jeni.

This site also has the Jeni quote, and the alleged Barbara Bush quote as well…attributed to Lenny Clarke.

And, finally, this site attributes the Tiger Woods quote to Ren Hicks.

Hmm, thanks. Just about all of the quotes in the e-mail are from one of your links, but attributed to different people.

For example, the e-mail says that Henry Kissinger said “There are only two reasons to sit in the back row of an airplane: Either you have diarrhoea, or you’re anxious to meet people who do,” not Richard Jeni.
