Turns out she was a screenwriter and novelist in her own right, but her role in helping persuade Ian Fleming to accept Cubby Broccoli as producer, and then in shaping the 007 franchise afterwards, is undoubtedly what gets her the publicized obit.
Two tidbits I hadn’t known before: that apparently Cubby’s ancestors really had invented their namesake veggie, by crossing a cauliflower with a pea; and that the current franchise producer, Michael G. Wilson, is Dana B.'s son by her first marriage.
Also, that the Broccolis’ love story definitely had a “meet cute” beginning.
