Edgar Froese, founding member of Tangerine Dream has died.
Son of a bitch! I love their stuff. Didn’t know they were still together. RIP.

Oh no! That’s awful. So many of my memories, especially from the era of about 1991-2001 are interwoven with Tangerine Dream music.

Sorcerer, Thief, Risky Business - the music Tangerine Dream contributed to those films was excellent. I first learned of Tangerine Dream when I saw Sorcerer in the movie theater. Fortunately, I also saw Thief and Risky Business in theaters as well. hearing their music on a theater sound system was a treat.
So sorry to hear of his passing.

Hell, he is Tangerine Dream.
I love their mid-to-late 70’s output, in the sweet spot between their more abstract early stuff and how they eventually abandoned most attempts at crafting atmospheres in favor of cheesy riffs. He will be missed.
Force Majeure is my favorite Dream album. I’m going to put it on right now.
