R.I.P Strom Thurmond -- anybody sad?

1902-2003. Can’t say I’ll miss the guy, to be honest.

Barry

Finally, the evil fiend is dead.

Didn’t bother me in the least bit.

It didn’t bother me in this thread or in any of the other dozen or so threads on the same topic that you would have found with a simple search instead of opening another one.

Sadly, I have yet to meet someone who is. I think any rational human being acknowledges the fact that he did next to nothing to promote humanity.
He was a sick old man.

No, but I’m going to miss not being able to make fun of that crazy old coot.

On second thought, I’ll probably just continue to do so.

Nope - I just think it was about time.

Only the good die young…RIEH Maddox and Thurmond

:smack:

Ah well, at least give me credit for being the first one to post about it in this forum. To be honest, it just didn’t occur to me that people would post about it in other forums…

Stop, stop! You’re ripping my heart out!

One less effing bigoted dinosaur.

Good riddance.

If I believed in God, I’d be happy knowing he’s burning in hell.

I don’t feel a loss about the death of Strom Thurmon.

This morning on the news I swear I heard a news-person saying “Strom Thurmon died at last”. Maybe I heard wrong, I was half-asleep, but I laughed all day at the prospect of a news-person saying that.

I don’t know, I think everyone’s being a little too hard on him, given the story of his last minute change-of-heart, which I found quite touching.

I was thinking of getting a grave-dancing group together…

[voice of reason]

While I don’t agree with the man’s politics, I do feel sorry for his family and friends. My prayers are with them during this sad time.

Old coot deserves everything he gets in the afterlife. Maybe he will come back as a gay Jewish black woman. I think that would suit him well.

Rob

Not even a sniffle/

And…, you are?

Well, it was about time for him to leave. What else is there to do at the age of 100? Besides, that was an evil man.

First Maddox, then Thurmond. Hell MUST be full by now.
