"Rabbit:" a funny, twisted animated short from England

I found a link to this cartoon on Jerry Beck’s website. The animator took a bunch of pictures from an old children’s book of words and animated them to create a bizarre tale. There are some disturbing images of kids killing animals, but the result is pretty darn funny. Wanting a fur muff, two kids kill a rabbit. When they cut it open, an idol pops out. As flies surround the rabbit carcass, the idol turns them into jewels. A chance for wealth, or a disaster waiting to happen?

Three things I learn from this film:

  1. Found images can be reconstructed in very clever ways.
  2. A boy killing a horse by hitting it with a bat is damn funny.
  3. If an idol ever enters your house, make sure to have plenty of jam.

That’s just freaky creepy.

Holy hell, that’s freaky. Creeptastic. I loved it.

Wow. That was excellent.

Thank you! Brilliant!
