Ok, this is ridiculously vague, but here goes: it’s a story about creating some sort of creature from different animal parts. The resulting creature is meant to be beautiful. The only ingredient I can clearly remember are the dainty little hands from a squirrel.
I remeber it sort of visually, so it’s probably a cartoon or a comic book. A cat or a mad scientist may be involved somewhere.
In The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers No. 5, there’s an episode of Fat Freddy’s Cat called Animal Camp. In it, a madman at the camp proposes using Fat Freddy’s Cat as the basis of his creation:

Glad to help. I kept looking around (hey look, Doc Atomic #2!), and I found that Animal Camp is also in The Adventures of Fat Freddy’s Cat #3. Oslo, huh? Like in Norway? far out!
