There are many notable triumphs I could list here, not least a record 4 wins in the King George VI Chase at Kempton, but his finest victory was surely gained in the 1989 Cheltenham Gold Cup. The horse won its race on a track he disliked and on atrocious underfoot conditions. Sheer class and courage got him home IMO.
