With all the other appreciation threads floating around, I’d thought I start one for one of my favorite female actors - Rachel Griffiths.
I especially liked the character she played in “Muriel’s Wedding”, and have made it a point to watch anything she’s in since then (note to self - must start watching “Six Feet Under” on HBO). Plus, I also think she’s incredibly hot (of which my girlfriend teases me about constantly).
On a side note, I wasn’t impressed with her potrayal as Johnny Depp’s mother in “Blow”.
In the poast few months, a movie named Me, Myself, & I has been playing on cable and I was really impressed by her performance in it. She plays a great role of a woman who gets to live another version of her life - really neat plot. I had been sort of unaware of her until her great role in the magnificent Six Feet Under and was amazed that she was 1. Australian and 2. Not American.
So FWIW, I have huge newfound respect and appreciation for Ms. Griffiths. I hope to check out some of her earlier work and to catch her in Six Feet for seasons to come.
