Huh? :blinks:
I’m trying too hard? I didn’t have to. I saw the ham question and had to restrain myself from insulting her in GQ and then I find this lovely Pit thread where I can.
I think Stickler is trying to say, she’s asking why ham is universally very salty, not whether or not salt is an ingredient in ham.
It’s a fair question, if you don’t know that ham is more or less defined as a salt cured pork product.
As to why it isn’t better to just google, if you put even a simple question to the people on this board, you can wind up with an engaging thread that discusses more than just the simple answer. The ham thread includes how to reduce the saltiness, why ham is cured in salt, what cut the ham is, corned beef and pastrami, country ham, picnic ham, etc.
Eh, she’s not so bad. A little too blunt about TMI subjects, and a little too judgmental, but aren’t we all? Without people like her, message boards would be boring.
I don’t think **rachel **and I would get on IRL, and I mostly skim her posts (because previous ones I have read have made me wish for brain bleach), but some of the criticism is a bit harsh.
I think she might benefit from, maybe, writing down some of these rants in a paper journal or in some other way which basically isn’t a PUBLIC FORUM ESSENTIALLY ASKING STRANGERS TO POINT AND LAUGH AND MAKE SNARKY COMMENTS ABOUT YOU.
Because, sometimes the things she write probably don’t come across the way she intends, and her intent is lost in the tone, and then people make comments based on what they feel she meant.
So, maybe she could focus on catharsis, without inviting feedback?
