Yeah, it’s kind of a “look at this Einstein!” type of joke. It falls flat.
Nothing surprises me anymore. In the 90s I remember being shocked by seeing a bumper sticker – a mass produced item – in Southern Illinois on a truck reading “If we knew it would be so much trouble, we’d have picked the damned cotton ourselves.” Imagine what kind of person would affix that prominently to their vehicle. I’d love to see them drive their truck through Chicago.

My take is the verb form is incorrect. It should be “If I were Black”. The use of “English major” is the OP mocking the racist ignoramus. “Art major” is mocking the quality of the artwork involved.
“This is not a racist town”. Oh yeah? Big Lake’s population has doubled in 20 years, an increase of 6,000 people moving in, white people, who are still 93% of the total.
It smacks of one of those Midwestern growth towns that white people are attracted because the neighbors are white. 50/50 that the woman who said that is one of the white newcomers.
Okay, that’s bad but not anywhere near as bad as the others. At least it has some context known to all the people involved that wasn’t meant in a way to hurt someone. Plus the girls involved were apparently disciplined in some manner.
Yes, plus his elegant mix of upper and lower case letters, plus he screwed up the sign at the end somehow because he apparently messed up the “4 u” or somehow spelled “you” wrong because he tried to erase it and ended up using a different color to cover up his mistake. Apparently he didn’t want to spring for another fifty cents for a new poster board to try it again. Maybe he gave his last half a buck to his 4 year old brother to do it for him.
What a romantic guy, seems like him and his girlfriend are quite the pair. And this guy is a senior in high school. The fact that all the girls seemed to accept these offers makes it look like racism is doing just fine.
I think every time I see someone post “once all the old racist people die off, so will racism”, I’m going to link to some of these stories. At least most of these kids didn’t use blackface and used Black instead of n****r. Must be progress.
