Outback is using a very familiar, military-sounding tune–something like “When Johnnny Comes Marching Home”–for their Mother’s Day radio campaign. It’s actually rather funny, rhyming “mum” with “bum” and so forth. I think Tums might have used the same tune years back. Does anyone recognize it? Driving me nuts!
I’ve been trying to Google and find a copy of the ad without luck, but IIRC it is similar (but not exactly) to the tune of “If you’re happy and you know it clap your hands.” Is that what you’re thinking of?
Sort of. It always ends with them singing “Mum” (or a rhyme for it) and others chiming in with the same word, almost hummed. It’s not quite anything I’ve heard, unless it’s the same as the Tums commercial. It really sounds like a military song to me; it’s very rhythmic and catchy, but it sounds a little too hard for children to sing.
I’m only guessing at the cause of your deja vu, but they’ve been using that spot for a couple of years. They have an equally annoying Fathers’ Day counterpart.
