Radio Days: The MMP

I once had a grey tabby named Spot.

I got home 14 hours after I left(I had do boss stuff past quittin’ time, and I needed a beer run.) Having a beerverage in honnor of the Birthday bear.

 I have a friend born and raised in Durham. I cam imagine the accent.
And you could get an Italian Greyhound, and name him “Dog Corleone”

I con-cur with your dog pun.

Yay for being sheveled, swampy!

red, I had a grey cat I named Fritz.

Damn.
He is better than I, I will not kibitz.
Damn, I’m sorry.

Moses and Aaron on a stick, I thought that would be a Classical Reference.
You disappoint me, though you are cute.
:frowning:

Good thing it’s a stick and not a stalk of broccoli. Then we’d be shouting “Cruciferous him!”

snipped. Definitely what I’d get if I was going to get a snake.

Snake?:eek: Why would anyone want a snake?:eek::eek:

They feel kinda cool.

It’s not ratty lookin’ we were worried about

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up, caffienated and purtified for irk already so no yawns this mornin’. 'Tis 66 Amurrkin out with a nice breeze with a predicted high of 88 for the day. I could deal with weather like this every day.

OYKW is finishin’ up his purtification ritual as I post. We’re goin’ to Pearlies for brekkie this mornin’. YUM! After that I shall head down to the south forty to spend the day. Rah. Dindin tonight shall be takeout from Sonny’s so’s I can waste the rest of the gift card. Plus, hey Sonny’s! OYKW has expressed a desire for pulled poke bbq sammiches. Sounds good to me, along with Sonny’s baked beans and slaw.

Spidey yes, I ordered plaid pants in every color imagineable. :stuck_out_tongue: Actually I am dressed in a new pair of pants. They’re olive green. I paired the pants with a nice pale yellow pullover shirt and look quite dapper thankyewverymuch.

I think this evenin’ and possibly tomorrow evenin’ shall involve some mowage as da yahd needs it and rain is predicted for Firday and Sattidy.

Ok, sounds like OYKW is nearin’ the end of his ritual so I reckon I should get a move on to get out the door.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

I did that dialect test thing that was going around Facebook a while back and it pegged me as being from Greensboro. Actually, I was born & raised about an hour south of there, but thanks for playing!

swampy, you should get a pair of plaid pants like one of the boys in this fine educational film wore to go boating.

We had a Dalmatian named Pixel - we spent far too much time explaining the name.

swampy, I thought plaid pants were the requisite geezer uniform, gay or no. After all, you’re 60!!!

We haven’t figured it out, but I think it’s the end of our aquarium. Two more tangs died last night, the wrasses never did reappear, some of the soft corals are looking strange… the chemistry and salinity are fine and that’s pretty much the limit of our testing abilities. We can’t afford to do a restart, and **FCD **said if it all died, he’s not going to bother any longer. I guess we’ll sell what we can on Craig’s List, then patch the holes in the floor and walls and I need to find something to put against that wall - maybe pull my piano out of the green bedroom.

On one hand, I’m upset about the sudden demise of the system. On the other hand, I’d begun to wonder when we’d be rid of it all. So it’s looking like we’ve got our answer.

Meanwhile, it’s in the low 50s this morning. I kinda slept in because I was up and down all night with tummy issues. I don’t know what caused it, but the results were unpleasant and despite being awake, I’m not rested. Waking every hour or 2 is not fun.

Dunno if we’ll go to the gym today, but I will mulch the front garden. Beyond that, no idea what today will bring.

Happy Wednesday, I guess… <yawn>

Good morning, y’all.

The sun is shining, the birds are singing (at least I think so; the girls are being somewhat noisy this morning), and I’ve got a doctor’s appointment later this morning, followed by paying work and the Farmer’s Market.

So, news on the job front. I had an interview with a particularly specialized department within the state gubmint yesterday at 10 am. At about 1-1:30, the supervisor called and told me she’d called the HR department at [del]the shitty call center job[/del] my previous employer to get a reference from my previous supervisor, but was unable to do so because of stonewalling on HR’s part. I spent the afternoon chasing down a direct number which I now have, and which I can now give to potential employers. If the former supervisor decides not to play ball with this lady, I have no idea what’ll happen, but at least I did all I could; I can’t make people cooperate, no matter how much I want them to.

So, off to perform morning ablutions and have a good day!

Something similar happened to the salt aquarium at the zoo a year or so back- all the tests were totally normal, but the fish were dying. I don’t think we ever really worked out what it was, and, seeing as it was a tank in a zoo, ripping it out and putting a piano in wasn’t really an option.

Anyway, I need to quit being lazy, (my sleep habits are still in festival mode), and get up and purtified. I’m going to go round the temp agencies today, and see if I can get something less silly than security work. Wish me luck!

This morning, the little fish seem to be fine - the clowns, the lone blue cromis - and the clam and shrimpzilla seem to be OK. Tank lights won’t come on for another 45 minutes, so it’s hard to tell if the black cromis and the damsels are still alive.

**FCD **is cleaning the filter media again and if he gets salt, he may do an early water change. Or he may just put up some ads and be done with it. I’m pretty much keeping my opinions to myself, but I wouldn’t be broken-hearted at all if it all went away. Had it been my choice, we never would have had this setup in the first place. Kinda like my choice would have been no Harley and no Higgs. Guess I’m a meanie, hug?

Blurf.

I had to go get siphoned by the medical vampire this morning. Why is it that whenever I begin to think I’m finally whipping my anemia, I have to do labs and I get another setback?

Good morning all.

Nothing new in this neck of the woods. Except for the wooden road that the electric company built through my backyard. Complete with a bridge across the drainage ditch that separates our property and the family next door. I guess they were serious about installing that new 10KVA cable there was talk about last year.

IT’S HERE! TODAY’S THE DAY!!! (& only one day late for Swampy’s b-day gift.)
I am of course referring to:
SHARKS FALLING FROM THE SKY!!!
Even Flounder thinks it’s great!

Up and caffeinated. Working midshift today

Every time you talk about Higgs, I think of this:smiley: Sorry about the fish, though.

Spidey, were you and Flytrap technical consultants for that?

Good luck with the job, Rockin’.

A friend back in high school had a dog named Fluffy and a cat named Spot ------ I always like that.

Because the pet shop was out of Komodo Dragons?

Happy Hump Day!

It’s in the 60s, beautiful and cool day. Of course the idiots have the AC on even though the air outside is cooler than what is coming through the AC.

I didn’t sleep well last night either, too many weird dreams.
I feel like hades but I’m irking away and it’s been a busy morning.
Very busy - which is good for money but bad because I need to get ready for the
Road trip to Hagerstown.
