Radio Stations Raising Money for Tsunami Victims

In LA, KROQ is putting together an auction to raise money for Tsunami Victims. It’s an awesome auction with stuff I would totally love, but there are more generous people out there than me (can’t afford:) Take a look at some of the items:

They include walk on roles for TV shows, Sports tickets, lots of signed guitars, etc.

I was wondering if other radio stations around the country were doing this kind of thing, or if this is localized. Obviously a lot of musicians or their record companies are in LA so giving up signed platinum albums is pretty easy and a generous action. Same thing with the TV Shows, but can’t other cities put together things like this? Sports are in many cities. Tickets are easy to come by and add on a “time on the courrt/field” and it becomes a real enticing auction item. So any other autions like this around this country or another?

94.5 The Buzz, an alternative station in Houston, did a request-a-thon. They played any song a listener wanted as long as a donation was made. I think it lasted 18 hours. They raised $158,000.
