Rain, rain, go away!

We’ve had an inch and a half of rain today and the lobby here at work is flooded. Oh, joy. I haven’t been downstairs yet so I don’t know how flooded.

DC area dopers might want to check their basements.

Dude, I second that motion. I was at the CIA all day, got caught in the start of the downpour getting to my car, and then decided to go to the liquor store in Old Town Alexandria. After hydroplaning along Route 50, it took me thirty minutes to go the two miles from Pentagon City to Old Town.

When I got out there, the water was up to my door frames, and people were swooshing through it at fifty miles an hour. After selecting my purchases at The Boutique of Intoxicating Goodness, it was a mere sprinkle.

Oh well. I guess we need it. I just wish the sanitary sewers hadn’t overflowed. THERE’S a smell to behold, I tellyawhut!

Dudes, I third that motion. I attended a meeting in Maryland today and got out at 2:20pm. The rain started out light and got progressively heavier as I was crossing the Wilson bridge back into Virginia. By the time I made it to Landmark Mall, the rain was coming down so hard that deep potholes were filled. I hope this means that we won’t have any water restrictions this summer.

Rain, rain, go away!
Go and cool down bloody L.A.!

But make a stop in Colorado first. Wet 'em down, then come on over!

You’re not then only one…

sigh

The. Not then. I even previewed. :smack:

Apparently, the weather atop Taiwan is making up for the past month of drought. It’s been thunderstorming and raining cats and dogs for the past three days straight. I’m so grateful my house is on top of a tall hill…
