I’m playing part 1 of this on the 360, and it is frustrating as hell. Totally different from Rainbow Six 3 on the PC (which was the last RS game I played).
The first few levels were way too easy, then when you get to the casino it is way too hard. It takes about 10-15 runs to get past every checkpoint now.

I really disliked Vegas too - to me, it tried too much to be like SWAT 4, and forgot what being Rainbow Six was about.
And, to me at least, being Rainbow Six was about getting a non-descript floorplan of the level, spending a few hours to draw an overly ambitious attack plan, hit “go”, get slaughtered, trim the plan down, re-iterate 64 times until the plan’s just right, then hit “watch the action without taking part”. And watch your AI murder machines mow down the bad guys when the Alpha go-code is issued.
I got a little ooged out at the realism of the death too. Poke your head around a corner. Boom. Red. Fading. Dead.
Dart to next row of slot machines, Boom. Red. Fading. Dead.
I got tired of dead.
What a difference 9 days can make (I made this OP on the 17th). Like any skill in life (raising a family, curing cancer, combating poverty, etc) playing videos games is also something you become better at with experience.
So I am at the point now where I have killed Irena and I am trying to diffuse the missile on top of the dam. However after I kill all the enemy tangos and I set my team to disarm the missile, for some reason a giant explosion happens and I get killed. I have no idea what that is or how to avoid it. Is the US military doing an airstrike or something? If so, what do I do?
