I realize I’m late to the party but I can’t believe no one else thought this was worthy of commentary.
If you have any appreciation for homages and Raising Hope, you should go to Hulu and watch Murder, She Hoped. I thought it was fantastic and I’m just disappointed I didn’t twig immediately upon seeing Virginia’s hair.
No sub-plot with Sabrina, Jimmy or Hope, but I suspect you won’t miss it.
I thought it was brilliant, and Virginia’s new hairdo didn’t clue me in either.
Have they done any other homages?
They did do a cool Wizard of Oz a couple seasons back. And I didn’t twig to that until the very end. I just don’t expect that kind of wit in a low-rated sitcom.
None come to mind beyond the Back to the Future with Christopher Lloyd and Modern Family with the wedding, although I don’t know if that was a tribute so much as a riff.
This was incredible. Took us a minute as well, but we knew something was up right away. Everything was just so stylized. Terrific episode. I had to keep pausing and rewinding because we were laughing so hard.
