When I was a little kid, like middle school and below (this would have been in the first half of the 1990s, and no later than ‘97), the Albany (NY) Fox affiliate used to show little spots between the afternoon kids’ line-up featuring “Ranger Danger,” a fat doofy guy in a park ranger outfit and hat - I can’t remember whether he did stupid things for laughs, or did stupid things for laughs intended to teach you not to do stupid things because you’re a stupid little kid. He didn’t have his own show or anything, he was just on during the commercial break. I don’t know whether he was local or what. I don’t know what prompted this memory, either. Does anyone else remember Ranger Danger?
I remember Ranger Danger, but I grew up outside Albany around the same time you did. He was local. I believe he was a DJ on Pyx 106 (“Uncle Vito”), who had been convicted of DWI and was doing that as community service. I’m not sure, though.
