Thundercats kicked serious ass. I still watch the movie from time to time when I need a quick burst.

SilverHawks was also magnificent, though my local TV station did not run it very long. I never caught TigerSharks, alas.

Lion-O did have a cameo appearance in the original Bubble Gum Crisis. Just so you know.

Who will not comment on RB otherwise.

For some really funny Thundercats stuff, go to http://www.soundamerica.com and click on Cartoons. Then choose the Thundercats/Silverhawks link. They’ve got several outtakes from the recordings of the episodes. They’re hysterical. Turns out Lion-O was a dirty old man with a mouth like a sailor. What’s funny was that I was watching an episode of Thundercats on Cartoon Network a while back and recognized one of the lines from the outtake. It was … cleaned up considerably.

SilverHawks had a cooler theme song than Thundercats did.

You’re kidding me! What episode, where?

Who’s in Tampa??

Bear_Nenno I am in Tampa, along with pezpunk (who is a dirty bastard, heh heh heh…)

Possibly the only series that has never been re-shown or released to video is a 1970 cartoon that ran on Saturday Mornings, called “Tomfoolery.” If featured animated versions of the poems of Edward Lear and Lewis Carroll. I was able to snag 3 of them. I wish I could get the other 14.

(We now resume the Great Tampa Cartoon Debate.)

Tigersharks was the least enjoyable of the three, IMNSHO.

What does a cartoon adventure series need, in order to be interesting? A challenging villain! Mumm-ra was downright scary. Mon-starr was pretty impressive in his own right. But the villains on Tigersharks were laughable! We’re supposed to feel threatened by a lousy pirate that didn’t even transform?!

Silverha-awks, a rainbow in the niiiiiiiiiight!*

:stuck_out_tongue:

I always loved how interstellar space had an atmosphere and gravity in that show…

::Shudder:: That’s another thing that bugged me about the SilverHawks (besides the theme song) - the stupid rainbow shooting out of their main vehicle’s arse. What is this? the Great Space Coaster? Reading Rainbow? correct me if i’m wrong but aren’t rainbows caused by refraction and the prism effect of fine water mist and light combined? It’s like an Eddie Izzard bit… talking about transvestite paratroopers: “Wow, look at these guys… Oh shit they’ve got GUNS! ::holds hands up like a hostage:: Were you surprised? I was…” Now don’t get me wrong, I still think the SilverHawks would have demolished the ThunderCats, but could ya see it?

Cheetara: Lion-o, look at this! A rainbow heading towards us, Lion-o.
Snarf: I don’t like this Lion-o, snarf snarf.
Panthro: What the? Lion-o there’s a large ship headng our way…
Cheetara: Lion-o maybe they’re third Earth’s FTD…
Jaga: Those are no flower delivery people, Lion-o
Lion-o: Why do you all have to say my name 500 times? We all know who I am by now. The audience knows who I am. Can’t we get some real dialog?

 heh heh heh… here’s something for any ThunderCats fans out there…

I say Thundercats never jumped the shark! WOO!

punk snot dead,
broccoli!

“Jumped the shark”?!? What, is that one of those new hipster slang euphemisms, or was there a Tigersharks/Thundercats crossover?

How can you say that. One of these days i’ll get round to posting some mp3s of our band covering Thundercats.

Trumpets and trombones work SO well

Yes! My last band did the ThunderCats theme song, sans horn section.

Jump the shark is self-explanitory if you go to the site.

Sure Broccoli you no talent hack! Maybe you could cover it with your new band if you could find a drummer :stuck_out_tongue:

[sub] hehehehe just playin. I really bring down the quality of this thread[/sub]

ouch man, that really hurts… Actually i’m gonna force my roommate to start playing drums (he said he always wanted to so…). Me and my bassist are gonna buy a set soon and let him learn on them. I figure if I gotta teach my assist how to play bass, then i might as well get a newbie drummer too. Lord knows ANYONE and their monkeys can play drums
