Rap and Hip-Hop--most clever lyricists?

I know very little about rap, but I did enjoy 90% of the stuff put out by Public Enemy, both lyrically and musically, and I also used to love The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy ages ago.

T.V. is the reason why less than 10 per cent of our
Nation reads books daily
Why most people think Central Amerika
means Kansas
Socialism means unamerican
and Apartheid is a new headache remedy
absorbed in it’s world it’s so hard to find us

are more important than the words
that come out of it

Now that I think about, both groups remind me of Gil-Scott Heron who was a great lyriccal rap-preceder.
