She is guesting on CSI: Miami tonight, and at age 71, she is still smokin’ hot. If she’s had work done, it is very good. Plays the evil matriarch pretty well, too.
My guess is that “brick shithouse” does not mean to you what it means to me. You’re “smokin’ hot” assessment is spot on. When I hear(or read) “brick shithouse” I picture someone built, well, like me. Pretty much the same thickness from the shoulders down. I don’t think Raquel was ever built like that.
- Raquel Welch is 71?!
- And still hot?
My ex-teenage brain just tried to turn itself inside-out.
Brick Shithouse means a very large and strong bruiser. At least that’s what it’s always meant to me. I sincerely hope she’s not built like that!
Moved IMHO --> Cafe Society.
She was a guest on Craig Ferguson the other night, and indeed she is looking good. Good genes, taking good care of herself or having much better luck with choosing what to have tucked and by whom than anyone else in Hollywood.
“Brick shithouse” to me has always meant a busty Amazon.
‘Built like a brick shithouse’ means ‘well built’. The context of ‘well built’ is obvious when it comes to Raquel Welch.
Holy crap she’s not only still amazing looking, she’s also engaging and funny and hip!
Cecil covered this nine years ago.
I’d still like to have her dropped on top of me.
I would (heroically) push you out of the way and (selflessly) take the hit.
Playwright/comedian Del Shores tells a slightly/possibly NSFW story about his lunch with Raquel Welch in which she speaks to her cosmetic choices.
Kathleen Turner said much the same thing: “After 40, you can either keep your face or your figure.” Trying to maintain the body of an 18 year old is possible, but the strain will show in your face (see: Fonda, Jane)
In that clip, she looks OK for a 40-something woman.
Which is pretty damn good, at age 71.
this x 2
The results may kill me, but what a way to go…
She is indeed like a fine wine - seems to only get better with age
She’s still got a big bottom…
Brick shithouses are rare, and well-built. Don’t you remember The Commodors hit (soon to lose lead singer Lionell Ritchie) “She’s A Brick…House?”
This made me tee-hee.
The Monty Python “It’s . . .” man (Michael Palin) pretty much sums up my POV:
A bit of literary trivia: Raquel Welch was Ayn Rand’s first choice to play Dagny Taggart in an *Atlas Shrugged *movie. She had the cheekbones.
