I agree with the OP (other than that one persistent spelling oddity, your posts are a pleasure to read, but that one mistake is a bit distracting), and although (doesn’t that look better?) I have gently reprimanded you myself for that mistake, I pronounce you forgiven.

Funny thing is, “thru” is generally considered an unambiguous and thus OK shortening of “through” for informal correspondence. At least in my book. I doubt you would have been Pitted for use of that nonstandard word.
