What the hell is the deal with a certain few SDMB members who consistently spell ‘the’ as ‘teh’? Probably this is some sort of subconscious physiologically ingrained typo, but it pisses me off. Any fellow teh-haters out there? Or teh-folk who would like to try to justify their torture of the English language?

I know I type it “teh” instead of “the” because I’m trying to get a post through on my computer before my henious boss finds out I’m using the internet on “his” time. Typing fast just interverts the characters.
Hope I have no typos in this one…
I dunno–people so used to Microsoft Word correcting it for them that they don’t realize they’ve typed it wrong?
I know what he’s talking about. There are teh occasional exceptions. But, there are those that insist on typing teh over and over again. Not to name names but I know who you are.

I think its a common mistake due to speed of typing…
if you want to bitch, what about using: ‘ur’ instead of your, you’re - whatever. Or ‘u’ instead of ‘you’.

I do the “teh” thing all the time, but I always try to correct it. It’s just a typo.

I was not attacking any particular established poster, as you implied. (Well, I guess I am now…) I plead guilty to being a newbie. But I think it’s natural to have a gripe for a first post. After all, it’s easier to bitch than it is to be original.
My “funny” name: well, there’s a short, probably boring, story behind it which I’ll spare you from reading right now.
As far as ‘Do Not Feed The Troll’… well, you can examine my posting record and judge for yourself.

If he was really a “newbie” then he would not even know what DNFTT means. Heck, being in the SCA, when I 1st came here, I thought a 'troll" was a GOOD thing. And another thing, just because you were so dense you didn’t know what a “troll” was does not mean he is that stupid.
