I recently read “What We Talk About, When We Talk About Love” for an English class and i really liked it. But I’ve heard that many of the stories in What “We Talk about” collection were heavily edited and rewrote by Gordon Lish and I’ve heard a few say that the stories where more Lish than Carver. Be it a lot a of the people who say this go on about how they dislike the ‘minimalistick’ way that the stories are written in and that Carver’s stories were hacked and gutted into by Lish for that effect.
I just want to know how much control Lish forced upon Carver?
