I’m not boxing fan and even to me it’s over the top. it’s not like there was any nuanced judgement involved. That’s just straight cheating.
It was the referee that was expelled, not any judges, like it says in your title. Also, this is a duplicate thread.
My only guess, and it is a guess, is that they come from places like Turkmenistan where it’s a normal part of life. In many some just in order to get a drivers license you better be ready to grease a few palms.
Because other officials have committed similar offenses and gotten away with it. So why not try? In this case, the decision was overturned, but in others that didn’t happen. It’s one of many Olympic scandals involving officials.

WTF is a 15y.o. volunteer doing in such a position? I feel sorry for both of them.
