RE:What's the deal with urinals in women's restrooms?

While the history of the female urinal is not in question I do believe this brief synopsis does not address a growing new trend. Many hiking supply companies are now supply single use or plastic cones that provide an easy way to stand up. The same devices are available at large scale outdoor events in Europe where portable sanitation is a requirement.

In these events it is common place for female patrons to overflow into the men’s room when the waiting lines become too long. This behavior is also common place in overcrowded New York night life.

Is the next step inevitable to relieve long lines?

Welcome to the SDMB, drew.

A link to the column is appreciated. Providing one can be as simple as pasting the URL into your post, leaving a blank space on either side of it. Like so: http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a1_255.html

I can foresee some problems. If a woman started using the urinal next to mine, I’d probably do a double-take. Under the circumstances, that could get messy.

“Excuse me, sir. Is this the Delta house?”
