Reading about the "knockout game" makes me feel old

It’s not JUST racists who are fond of this story. I’ve encountered at least one Second Amendment advocate who was delighted to think “knockout game” idiots might mess with an “armed citizen” and get what they desrved.

Potential victims are also taking notice — and measures to protect themselves — as in the case of Marvell Weaver, of Lansing, Mich. Weaver, 17, attempted to play knockout using a Taser in May, when his 28-year-old victim pulled a legally-concealed pistol and shot him in the buttocks.

According to police, Weaver had played the game successfully at least six times before being shot.

Because most of those hundreds of thousands of assaults are familiar to us, and even “logical”. (Abusive husbands, drunks at a bar, jealous boyfriends, muggers who want your wallet…)
The knockout game is a different level of social depravity.
And since it is new and we have no experience dealing with it, it’s scary.

Yes this, and it made me feel old when I said “damn kids”.

I was unaware this is apparently a dog whistle and right wing blog issue.
