I had no idea apes were this good at climbing buildings. Not sure we’d win a Planet of the Apes war if these beasties get organized.

The poor people’s hands are tied. All they can fight back with is pepper spray and paintball guns. I’d imagine these apes get more and more emboldened each time they pull off a raid.

Thieving baboons terrorise apartment block as residents stay indoors

In the street battle for supremacy between man and baboon, it can only be said that both sides are using guerrilla tactics.

For the baboons it means swarming SAS style up the sheer sides of blocks of flats, prising open windows and plundering anything that is inside. Usually they just want food, but sometimes a flapping set of net curtains or a child’s cuddly toy bear can provide some added entertainment.

For the humans, the weapons of choice – given that their enemy is a protected species – tend to be paintball guns and pepper sprays. They have the momentary effect of driving the baboons away, but hunger and sheer nerve always bring them back.

I wonder why the wildlife officials don’t dart the baboons and relocate them 50 miles away in the jungle?

Daily Mail, always good for a laugh.

Look, if I leave windows open I’ll get bugs in my house. If I leave a door open, a cat or raccoon might stroll in.
If I lived in a place with monkeys, I would keep doors and windows closed or have bars on them.
So if this is true, these people don’t get much sympathy from me. But most of those pics look shopped.

I looked closely before posting. They aren’t photo shopped. The hands are very clearly grasping cracks in the brick. Also theres a video of them going into a house.

I just as well post this other unrelated Baboon story. Probably a earthquake tremor scared them. Weird vibe in the video. They are scared of something.

Mystery over bizarre behaviour of baboons at Dutch zoo who have been turning...

Ordinarily seen scampering around on their island at the Emmen Dierenpark in the northern Netherlands, the gang of 112 monkeys have been sitting frozen on the ground and turning their backs on visitors this week.

The baboons have even lost their appetites, say baffled zoologists at the park, who have heard various theories as to what may be behind the animals’ strange behaviour.
