Yeah, that first sentence describes at least half the regular posters here.
And I clicked the “several posts schooling you about the facts” link in the OP, expecting as someone else in this thread put it: “a smack down”. It wasn’t several posts, it was one. And he seemed confused on who was making what claims in the thread, and didn’t even really address the points in the post he was replying to.
While my books have never garnered any fame, they have all been written on contract. As a result I’m considerably in the black even if they don’t sell a single copy. There’s still actually big money in Sahara-dry nonfiction text books and mind-numbingly dull technical volumes.
I don’t know. It seemed to me, in that case, that RealityChuck actually answered the question pretty well.
And if all you can muster as the content of an OP is “Ugh, why?” you probably shouldn’t whine too much if people don’t give you the type of answer you’re looking for.
MOIDALIZE probably deserved that warning, but c’mon — it’s not as if people don’t realize that television stations schedule programming according to profit maximization. Dropping in to point that out just makes someone look pedantic and combative (and silly).
That must be nice. At least the two of you can sit in your yurt at the fringes of society and regale each other with tales of the distant past, when people could still stand being around you.
“On the next Maury: Opal-greeting death rays who burning your dog and masturbate like motherfucks while diving to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, and the people who hate them. Don’t miss it.”
The way Reality Chuck expresses his views on Aliens and salt have put him on my pay-no-mind list. He’s an authority in his own mind (as opposed to me, who should be a recognized authority on everything under the sun…but no one seems to realize that).
