Really cool logos

What am I missing with this one?

I think it’s that the negative space on the bottom/top of the Ns makes it seem like the To is in a talk bubble with two tails.

So two people talking one on one.

Ever notice the arrow on the bottom of the amazon.com logo. “From a to z.”

How bout the worst logo I’ve seen recently Sherwin Williams What the hell were they thinking? I saw that logo and the first thoughts in my head were Sherwin Williams polluting the earth! Toxic chemicals covering my house is what I want to think about when I’m buying paint, OK maybe not.

To further ignore the threads goal I thought these are pretty cool

I’ve had some conversations with friends designing new company logo’s and such and something often left out in the design phase is practicality. Number of colors in the logo and the ratio’s/dimensions, having seen the headaches involved in a logo that can’t be easily adjusted for different uses I tend to look at logo’s a bit differently like ‘wow that one would be a terrible if they had to shrink it for a business card or blow it up for a t-shirt.’

An example of a good logo in their industries is often Wizards of the Coast

I never noticed that, I just always thought it looked like a big sperm. In fact, I think the first time I saw it, it was just the arrow without the word (is that how it looks on the shipping box) and my first thought was “What a stupid logo, it looks like a big sperm.”

My favorite in the unfortunate logo category. You need to turn your head and use your imagination. The complete story is here.

Here’s one from our neck of the woods. xpedx.com. This is for a paper distribution company. If one of their trucks flips over, at least everyone will know who it belongs to.

I’ve always liked the one for Austin Peay, a college in Tennessee. Their unofficial cheer is “Let’s go Peay!”

Austin Peay State University Athletics - Official Athletics Website (logo in top left corner)

I often write my A’s and P’s in that fashion now.

I liked the previous Big Ten Conference logo as seenhere. Cleverly poking fun at themselves. Calling tehmselves teh big 10 when they actually had 11 schools. The new one for the 12 team conference sucks in comparison.

Amazon.com’s original logo (scroll down):

Call me old-fashioned, but I think theRAF ROUNDEL has always been extremely cool. (Or is that an *insignia * vs a logo…and if so, what’s the difference?)

Whoa. I always saw it as just a smile! That’s cool.

I’ve always liked the logo for our local dragon boat club; 22dragons. For that matter, the logo for the 20km Challenge is also pretty cool. Teams come up with some rather awesome logos based on the dragon and the paddle.

I have always liked the Sunoco logo.

Nothing hidden in it AFAIK,but I like it.

Nothing hidden in it, but the Obama campaign logo is nicely elegant. It manages to evoke the letter O, the flag, fields of crops, and a sunrise, and fits just right on a button.

I always liked the old Milwaukee Brewers logo. A baseball glove comprised of an “m” and a “b”.

Yes, that’s a very strange way to write a script J.

What?

You only have the one, right? :stuck_out_tongue:

I think the Arizona Diamondbacks have some pretty good logos; this one, and especially this one. I really like the blending of the lowercase letters to make the shape of a rattlesnake head.
