Nope, bandwidth isn’t an issue when talking about line of text totalling only a few bytes. Basically it’s the difference between a millisecond and a microsecond.

I’d suggest you download Roger Wilco to talk to each other during the game. It’s designed for first person shooters, but you can use it in any other context. Of course, you need a microphone.
My guess would have been it would mean a several second delay, as versus maybe one second.
Steelerphan can Roger Wilco be used to talk over separate, private lines? eg. England-Germany, England-France, etc.
I’m in if you’ve got room in the game.
RW can be used to establish different channels but IMHO it’d be a very clunky way to work a game like this, and I have found it to be extremely unreliable. (I used to use it in Starcraft games on Battle.Net from time to time, and it occurred to me too for this context.)

How many do you have now? If you’re still at less than 7, I’ll do it.
I wouldn’t be able to do a game on Friday evenings (soccer) or Sunday afternoons (soccer) or the weekends of March 7th or 28th. Other than that, I’m perfectly available, except I couldn’t do it anytime during the week.
Damn my total POS ISP. Mounet has taken, lately, to investing between a minute and 8 hours (yes, no joke) dialing in to the internet. Add to this the charming fact that it craps out every 2:30 (two hours thirty minutes) on the dot, and I’d be praying to whatever gods can intervene that I got re-connected.
Beside which, I got my ass handed to me last time and it might cut into my FF7 (and diablo) time.
Any chance of getting some sort of record of dialogue? It’s always amusing to see what things get said in the heat of the moment during a frantic scramble to cover 6 SCs with 4 units.
Or, alternately, scrambling to find a fourth unit to beat 3 vying together for a land with no SC;)

I’d prefer AIM, just out of familiarity.
Friday night would be best for me, though any would be absolutely fine. However, this week and next week are aweful times, as I will be tramping around Europe with my friends on Spring Break!

Still thinking I’d like to get my ass kicked thoroughly. My preference would be for AIM, although I do have IRC also, just not all that familiar with it. I should be able to work around any scheduling that happens.
I am definitely still interested, and don’t mind either AIM or IRC since which ever one you go for i’ll have to download.
And with regards to the friday/saturday thing that would be preferable with me…
BUT
if everyone else was determined to go mid week on this, it would in fact give me an excuse to take a couple of the 37 days of annual leave i still have hanging around not being used. I’d just need a decent amount of notice.
