Reappearing clothing stains

A friend of mine keeps getting stains on her clothing. The stains are circles that appear about two inches above the belly button level, and look as if she’s leaned up against a small (approx. 2-3" diameter) rusty tin can. This has happened on many of her shirts, most of the time she cannot remove the stain, she has nothing on her body that would cause them and she has looked at everything possible that she might lean on that could cause these marks. She puts on a perfectly clean shirt in the morning, and by mid-day the stain becomes visible. This has been going on for about one year.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

The stain is too large and too high to be from a button. Not that it matters, but she’s about 65-70 years old.
